Simple Chicken Curry (with light gravy)


Here is a quick, simple and easy way of preparing chicken curry. I hope this recipe helps lot of beginners….


Chicken – 1/2 Kg cleaned and washed
Chopped Onion- 1 (medium size)
Ginger Garlic paste- 1 tabel spoon
Chilli Powder- 2 Tea spoons( adjust as per your taste)
Salt- 1 1/2 Tea Spoon
Slit Green chillies 2
Curry leaves- 1 spring
Chopped coriander leaves- 2 Table spoons
Garam masala- 1/4 tea spoon
Cinnamon -1 inch peice
cumin seeds- 1/4 tea spoon
Coriander powder- 2 tea spoons
Oil- 3 table spoons
Turmeric powder-1/4 tea spoon


Heat oil in a pan, add cumin seeds, cloves, cinnamon , green chilli, onions, curry leaves and fry till onions turn golden brown. Now add ginger garlic paste and turmeric powder stir for a minute and add chicken. Cook  for 5 min on medium heat, then add chilli powder,salt, coriander powder stir well and keep cooking for 5 to 10 minutes or till chicken is half done. Add 1 cup of water and cook till, chicken is well cooked , gravy acquires desired consistency. By this time oil comes out, so now its time to spice up our chicken curry with garam masala. Garnish with Coriander leaves and serve spicy chicken curry.
