Uthappam or Thick Dosa


sour Dosa Batter

Finely chopped onions and Green chillies

Grated carrot (optional) – vegetables of your choice like tomato, green peas

Chopped coriander leaves


Heat Dosa pan. when pan is hot enough (you can check it by sprinkling some water on pan, if it sizzles then pan is hot enough) pour a ladleful of dosa batter in the centre of the pan and spread it with the back of the ladle till you aquire desired thickness.
Drizzle some oil along the edges of dosa and cover it with lid for 20 seconds . Remove lid and top it with oinions,green chillies,grated carrot and the vegetables of your choice. Let it cook on medium heat till it comes to light brown color. Then flip other side and cook for 2-3 min depending on the thickness of your Uthappam. 
Soft Uthappams are ready to serve. Tastes great in combination with Coconut chutney or Peanut chutney or erra karam.
